SAFFORD — The operator of a home-based child care business is facing charges of child abuse when her own child was found wandering the streets alone.
Safford Police received reports of the child walking alone toward Relation Street on Thursday, June 29, just after 6 p.m. The reporting party prevented the child from entering the street, and told officers said similar instances occurred previously around the home at the intersection of Relation and 5th Avenue.
When the child was return to the mother, identified as Erin Kidd, it was learned there were other calls of unattended young children found outside the home where the child care business operated.
Kidd was then arrested and taken into custody on child abuse charges.
