SAFFORD — The Graham County Chamber of Commerce will be getting a technology upgrade thanks to Valley Telecom Group and the Foundation for Rural Service.

The Chamber was awarded a $4,450 grant to improve the audio-visual and communications equipment in its community room, which is used by numerous groups and nonprofit organizations.

The grant from the Foundation for Rural Service was made available to the Chamber through Foundation member Valley Telecom Group.

“We commend the Graham County Chamber of Commerce for their well-deserved Foundation for Rural Service Grant and are honored to have played a part in offering this opportunity. This milestone highlights our shared commitment to fostering technological advancement and community enrichment in the Gila Valley. We look forward to the positive impact of this collaboration in our local area,” Valley Telecom Group CEO Troy Judd said in a prepared statement.

The Graham County Chamber of Commerce was the only Arizona grant recipient. Total amount awarded was $105,000, supporting 23 different projects across the nation.

“Through the community grant program, FRS is proud to help multiply the work NTCA members are often already doing to give back so that their efforts can have an even greater impact on the communities they serve,” said FRS Executive Director Pam Becker. “We are grateful to the 23 NTCA companies that partnered with FRS this year to support these grants and would also like to thank Farm Credit East and the Carri Bennet Economic Development Fund for the additional support.”
