The #BryceFire stayed active throughout the night Friday and into early Saturday morning fueled by winds and dry vegetation. It pushed out to the northwest as resources stayed engaged suppressing spot fires most of the night.

The fire ran approximately six miles on Friday within the Gila River bottom near the communities of Eden and Pima in Graham County. The fire is still estimated at 850 acres with 25% containment.

Today, resources will continue with direct and indirect tactics working to stop the fire’s progression. They will also start prep work to River Road to the north of the fire to use as a holding feature. Prep work is also being done near Fort Thomas.

This morning, Graham County Sheriff’s Office placed residents in the river corridor in the Fort Thomas area on READY. The county’s initial SET notifications from Friday remain in place. While the US 70 is open, residents should be mindful of blowing smoke across the highway and potential intermittent closures due to fire activity.

Damaged infrastructure including utility and gas lines have been reported. At this time, no structures have been destroyed or damaged in the fire.
