Bryce fire at 52 percent containment

EDEN — The Bryce fire slightly increased in acreage Wednesday morning, but firefighters’ efforts are increasing containment.

The fire, which was discovered May 7 in the river bottom about 1.5 miles southeast of Eden and 7 miles northwest of Pima, is at 3,294 acres and 52-percent containment.

Engines continue patrols around the fire’s perimeter, and approximately 200 people remain assigned to battle the blaze.

Some infrastructure has been damaged, but no buildings or structures have been threatened.

The fire is believed to be human caused.
