Brothers fighting result in charges for the eldest

GRAHAM COUNTY — An 18-year-old man was transported to Graham County Jail after getting into a fight with family over alcohol.

The incident occurred Sept. 2 at a residence on Mourning Dove Lane. According to Graham County Sheriff’s deputies’ reports, the 18-year-old demanded his mother provide him with alcohol. She said she refused, he began yelling and his 16-year-old brother stepped in to protect their mother.

The 18-year-old reportedly struck his brother in the face multiple times, before the two began fighting in the living room.

Deputies also reported the 18-year-old appeared to have been drinking, and he allegedly admitted to drinking “three 99s.” Both he and his mother said they did not know how he obtained the alcohol.

Both brothers refused medical attention and the 18-year-old was booked on charges of assault, disorderly conduct and underage consumption of alcohol.
