SAFFORD — The Bureau of Land Management announced Thursday its approval of a vegetation management plan that covers integrated vegetation management activities targeting landscape restoration for the majority of the Safford Field Office.
The associated Environmental Assessment, decision record, and finding of no significant impact are available on the BLM ePlanning site. The decision begins a 30-day appeal period that ends Saturday, Nov. 30.
The BLM began development of the draft plan in March 2017 that included a 30-day public scoping period and public meetings. A 30-day public comment period on the draft plan followed in December 2020, as well as a 45-day public comment period on Wilderness and Ecosystem Plan Amendments to supplement the EA in June 2021.
