PIMA —Deborah Barr has stepped down from her position as a Pima Town Council member.

The council voted unanimously Tuesday to accept her letter of resignation. Barr was not in attendance at the meeting and a reason for the resignation was not given.

“I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to serve with her, learn from her and (I) just thank her,” said Mayor Dale Rogers.

Barr was first elected to the Town Council in 2014 and was re-elected in 2018.

The council is now accepting applications to serve the final year of Barr’s term. To be qualified for appointment, the applicant must be a resident of the Town of Pima.

Letters of interest should be submitted to the mayor and can be dropped off at Pima Town Hall. Under town code, an appointment must be made at the next council meeting March 1.
