Balloon release, candlelight vigil to close Victim Awareness Week

SAFFORD — Victim Awareness Week will come to a close Wednesday, with a special ceremony remembering the victims of violence.

The event will take place Wednesday, at 6 p.m., at Graham County Courthouse, and will feature closing remarks, followed by a victims’ balloon release and candlelight vigil.

The purpose of the week is to promote community awareness of victims’ rights.

Victim Awareness Week is sponsored by the Graham County Attorney’s Office and the Victim Witness Department, with help from Mt. Graham Safe House, Airgas Store, Walmart, Meg’s Place, Ice King of Arizona LLC and Eastern Arizona Hispanic Heritage Corporation.
