SAFFORD — The Arizona Attorney General’s Office will conduct a town hall in Safford to help seniors and their families recognize and combat scams.

Representatives from the Attorney General’s Office will discuss the latest scams targeting seniors, as well take input on issues facing seniors in the Gila Valley.

“The most effective weapon against them is prevention; preventing it from happening in the first place,” Attorney General Kris Mayes said during an Elder Scams Town Hall in Prescott on Oct. 22. “So we . . . will be traveling across Arizona talking about this, spreading the word (and) making sure that communities have the resources that we and other organizations, including nonprofits, have to offer.”

The Elder Scams Town Hall will take place Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Graham County Senior Center.
