Avelina Medina Sloan, of Clifton, Arizona, and formerly of Bloomfield, New Mexico, went to the Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the Haven Nursing Home in Safford, Arizona. She had just celebrated her 94th Birthday on December 27th.
Avelina was born in Clifton, Arizona, on December 27, 1927, to Jose Gamboa and Consuelo Medina. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Alfred Sloan; her sisters, Josephina Williams and Refugia Frasquillo. She is survived by: her sister, Tanis Vozza.
Avelina and Alfred lived in Bloomfield, New Mexico, until his death. Avelina returned to Clifton, AZ.
A rosary will be recited on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., by David Esquivel at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Nathaniel Mma at 10:00 a.m., with interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery followed by a reception at the Sacred Heart Center.
