SAFFORD — Gila Valley Arts Council received some extra help from Tucson to bring a wide variety of music to Graham and Greenlee counties.
The Gila Valley Arts Council was the recipient of a $5,000 grant from the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona. It is the only group in Graham or Greenlee to receive one of the 41 grants awarded, and one of just four awarded outside of Pima County.
“Through this significant investment, the Arts Foundation remains committed to the cultural vibrancy of the region,” said Gabriela Muñoz, director of Grants and Programs for the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona. “The 356 artists and creatives hired by the 41 organizational grantees highlight how essential this funding is to the sector’s financial health and underscore its powerful impact on our community.”
The Gila Valley Arts Council has announced its 2025-26 lineup of performances.
- Sept. 24 — Kristyn Harris Band
- Nov. 14 — Quartet Gelato
- Feb. 4 — Beo String Quartet
- March 4 — Encore Saxophone Quartet
All public performance will take place at the David M. Player Center for the Arts. Tickets are available at Richard’s Music in Safford.
In addition to the public performances, Gila Valley Arts Council brings the performers into area schools for special performances and instruction for advanced music students.
