SAFFORD — Gila Valley Leadership, in coordination with the Graham County Chamber of Commerce, announced that applications to participate in Gila Valley Leadership Cohort 19 are open.
Applications are due to the Graham County Chamber of Commerce, 1051 W. Thatcher Blvd., Safford, or admin@grahamchamber.org before 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 9.
Prospective participants can find the application at www.grahamchamber.org or at the Graham County Chamber of Commerce Monday through Saturday 9 am – 5 pm.
Gila Valley Leadership is a year-long, civic leadership training and networking program. Participants can expect to tour and understand surroundingr communities, agriculture, commercial, communications, cultural, education, healthcare, natural, political, public safety, social, and utilities systems. Participants will meet together for one full day each month from August 2024 to May 2025 and be officially inducted into the Gila Valley Leadership Association in June 2025. Gila Valley Leadership is the premier civic leadership program for employers looking to enhance employees’ professionalism, expand invaluable networks, and integrate the organization into the fabric of the community. It is for employees new to Graham County and those whose families have lived and worked in the Gila Valley for generations.
Leadership inductees boast Eastern Arizona College President Todd Haynie, former SEACUS Director and Founder of Roycycled Treasures, Royce Hunt-Bell, and many current elected officials and business community leaders.
The program is organized in partnership with the Graham County Chamber of Commerce, City of Safford, Graham County, and Eastern Arizona College; with the generous support of numerous businesses and organizations in the Gila Valley, including: Double R Communications, Kempton Chevrolet, Mount Graham Regional Medical Center, NatureSweet, OneAZ Credit Union, and the United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties.
