Almost $28K in grant funding by United Way in January

SAFFORD — Three programs and four events received grant funding from United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties in January.

The total amount disbursed by United in January was $27,962.75.

Education

  • $4,860.85 — Morenci Unified School District Wildkitten Den for Inviting Environment for student engagement

Health

  • $1,822.89 — Greenlee County Health Department for the Self Monitoring Blood Pressure program
  • $1,286 — AYSO post-season support for backpacks for three teams

  • $5,000 — Matheson Music Foundation Music Festival Play Zone
  • $5,000 — Pima Fire Department Fire Fest Vehicle Show
  • $5,000 — Nathaniel’s Childhood Cancer Foundation Color Run event

The United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties makes grants to nonprofit, educational and governmental organizations thanks to donations from Freeport-McMoRan Foundation and Freeport employees; employees of the City of Safford, Town of Thatcher and Graham County; and individual donors.
