Alma Kay Stone, a longtime resident of Safford, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, September 24, 2024, at her residence, following a lengthy illness. Kay was 74.
Kay was reunited with her beloved husband, Tom, who passed away in April of this year.
Alma Kay Stone (Godfrey) was born on November 18, 1949, to Grant and Clarabell Godfrey in Globe, Arizona. Kay wore many hats throughout her life. She was the co-owner of Sundown Electric, she worked at the Tiki Lounge, Thatcher Building Supply, and she finished her working career at Joe’s Plumbing as the general office manager. Kay enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, traveling with her sisters, sewing, and dancing.
Kay was preceded in death by: her parents, Grant and Clara Godfrey; and her brothers, John Turner Godfrey and Benny Godfrey.
Kay is survived by: her sisters, Lorraine Schultheis, Patty Arroyas (Art), Pamela Powers (Tom); her daughters, Bernice Roberson (Bobby), and Donna Griffith; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Kay will be conducted Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Venue on Main in Safford, Arizona.
