SAFFORD — A fight over the offer of a drink resulted in one man being booked into Graham County Jail.
Safford Police were dispatched to the Economy Inn on Sept. 1 following reports of a fight.
Speaking with witnesses who said they were drinking together in one room, they said a man was upset another man offered a woman “a shot” of alcohol, which prompted the first man to start throwing punches.
But the suspect said he was the victim and was jumped by two other men. One of the men the suspect claimed was one of the instigators returned to the hotel, and corroborated to officers the story that the suspect was the first to punch.
The suspect was booked on charges of assault/domestic violence.
