HUD funding help for homeless tribal veterans

FLAGSTAFF — On Friday, U.S. Rep. Eli Crane, R-Ariz., announced the Department of Housing and Urban Development renewed HUD-VASH funding for four tribal housing agencies in Arizona Dist. 2, including the agency for the San Carlos Apache Tribe.

Receiving funding are:

  • San Carlos Apache Housing Authority — $345,146
  • Hopi Tribal Housing Authority —$408,836
  • White Mountain Apache Housing Authority — $485,818
  • Navajo Housing Authority — $493,692

Veterans Administration Supportive Housing (VASH) provides housing support for homeless veterans. VASH provides vouchers for rental assistance, along with case management and other supportive services.
