Sheriff’s Office Responds to 22 Incidents
The Graham County Sheriff’s Office recorded 22 incidents between September 16 and the morning of September 17, including reports involving domestic disputes, fraud, a traffic collision, a workplace disturbance and several welfare checks.
One of the more serious calls occurred early Thursday morning at a business on North Freeport McMoRan Road. Deputies were called after a 22-year-old man was reportedly acting erratically and had stated that he had a handgun and 100 rounds of ammunition. Deputies followed the reporting party to the job site, where the man was detained.
Deputies also assisted with a traffic-related incident Wednesday evening near U.S. Highway 70 and Patterson Mesa Road. A silver Nissan Sentra was reported in a ditch with an occupant initially believed to be unable to get out. DPS requested medical assistance after reporting that a 19-year-old woman had struck her head and was experiencing head pain.
A domestic violence report was also made late Wednesday evening in Solomon. According to the report, a woman told Safford police that a man had been violent, taken her phone to prevent her from calling 911, and damaged her truck while she attempted to leave. The report notes that an order of protection had expired in June.
Other calls included a report of approximately $4,000 allegedly taken during a DoorDash delivery, a threatening letter received by an employee at Eurofresh, a report of harassment involving a request for information about an order of protection, and several welfare checks.
The report also included a call involving a broken water line spraying onto an electrical box, a suspicious-vehicle complaint at the Graham County Fairgrounds, an agency assist involving a vehicle search in which drug paraphernalia was reportedly found, and a report of dogs being attacked by other dogs.
The report covers incidents recorded after midnight on September 16 through the morning of September 17 and lists 22 total incidents.
