TUCSON — The Republican and Democrat vying to represent Greenlee County and the majority of Graham and Cochise counties in Congress are scheduled to debate Thursday evening.
The debate planned for incumbent Republican Juan Ciscomani and Democratic challenger JoAnna Mendoza is being produced by the Citizens Clean Election Commission and the Arizona Media Association.

Ciscomani is seeking a third term as the congressman in Arizona’s 6th District, which includes parts of Pima and Pinal counties, in addition to Graham, Greenlee and Cochise.
2026 marks Mendoza’s debut as a candidate.
The most recent polls released — two commissioned by Republican Conservatives for America and two by Democratic House Majority Pack — all show Mendoza up by anywhere from 1 to 3 points.
Congressional District 2
A recently-released poll shows Democratic challenger Jonathan Nez just 2 points behind two-term incumbent Republican Eli Crane in the race Arizona Congressional District 2, which includes the San Carlos Apache Reservation.
The Democratically-commissioned poll by GBAO Strategies on Aug. 27 shows Crane up 44-42. However, Nez is up by 22 points among independent voters in the district.
Meanwhile, an Aug. 24 poll by Peak Insights, commissioned by Republicans, shows Crane up by 11 points, 53-42.
The Peak Insights poll shows Crane with a 41-percent approval rating in CD2, to 25 percent disapprove. And the poll shows President Trump with a 51-percent approval rating in the district, which does not match the national polls, which show Trump averaging a 35-percent approval rating.
