PHOENIX — For the third month in a row, Roper Lake and Dankworth Ponds State Parks saw an increase in visitation.
That’s according to data released by the Arizona Office of Tourism.
Roper Lake and Dankworth Ponds had 7,391 visitors in May, up 12.9 percent from May 2025. Year-to-date visitation is virtually flat, with the first five months of 2026 totaling 30,243 visitors to Roper and Dankworth, down 0.2 percent compared to the first five months of 2025.
The State Park system, comprised of 29 parks and recreation areas, saw 231,294 visitors in May, down 10.5 percent from May 2025, the fourth month in a row visitation has been down.
Year-to-date, statewide visitation was at 1.36 million through May, down 5.3 percent from 1.43 million through May 2025.
