Woman Arrested After Domestic Disturbance Near Blue Ponds

A woman was arrested late Saturday night following a domestic disturbance involving her ex-boyfriend near the Blue Ponds area, according to the Graham County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 10:09 p.m. to reports of a confrontation near a water tower off Frye Creek Road. Witnesses told authorities that a woman was acting aggressively toward her ex-boyfriend, and preventing him from leaving the scene.

According to the report, the woman allegedly clung to her ex boyfriend’s vehicle and blocked his attempts to drive away. Witnesses also reported that she pulled on the vehicle’s door handles and struck a window.

Deputies arriving on scene observed the woman near the driver’s side of the vehicle with a firearm visible in her waistband. She complied with commands to lie on the ground and was taken into custody without further incident. The firearm was secured by officers.
