SUPERIOR — U.S. Highway 60 will be closed for just one day next week.

Highway 60 will be closed in both directions between mileposts 227-243 Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The closure is for the Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon bridges replacement project.

Drivers will be detoured to Winkelman via State Routes 77 and 177. The roughly 75-mile detour is estimated to add about an hour to trips between the Gila Valley and the Phoenix metro area.

The roadway will remain open in both directions throughout the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
