SAFFORD — The Thanksgiving holiday will begin a bit early this year, thanks to Freeport-McMoRan, The Way and Gila Valley Samaritan Home.
Freeport-McMoRan is asking for nominations of a family in need in Greenlee County that could use a little help with the holiday meal. The selected family will receive a full Thanksgiving dinner and remain anonymous.
Click here to nominate. Deadline to nominate is Thursday, Nov. 20.
On Saturday, Nov. 22, The Way Arizona will offer a free community Thanksgiving dinner at Safford’s Firth Park. In addition to the meal, there will be free raffles of turkey meal baskets and gift cards.
Text 928-322-1207 to donate or to volunteer to serve at the dinner.
On Sunday, Nov. 23, from 4-5 p.m., Gila Valley Samaritan Home will offer a free Thanksgiving meal.
Samaritan Home serves the area’s unhoused population; however, the meal is open to all members of the community.
