SUPERIOR — U.S. Highway 60 will be closed in both directions between mileposts 227-243 Tuesday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
The closure is for the Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon bridges replacement project.
Drivers will be detoured to Winkelman via State Routes 77 and 177. The roughly 75-mile detour is estimated to add about an hour to trips between the Gila Valley and the Phoenix metro area.
In addition, traffic will be reduced to one lane, with alternating east- and westbound travel, at milepost 241, for flood damage repairs.
Flaggers and a pilot car will assist drivers through the work zone.
U.S. Highway 70 east of Peridot will experience intermittent lane restrictions over the coming months while ADOT constructs a new passing lane.
The work will take place between mileposts 274-276 and flaggers will assist drivers through the work zones. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.
Construction is expected to continue until Summer 2026.
