SOLOMON — A second grader found himself afoul of the law after reportedly threatening to shoot a fellow student.
Graham County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Solomon Elementary, after school officials reported an incident of threatening behavior.
A student’s parents told school officials the student saw a BB near the backpacks and asked another student if it was his. He reportedly said it was, and if she told anyone she would shoot her with a gun he claimed he had in his backpack.
The student who allegedly made the threat originally denied the accusation when speaking with school officials, but reportedly admitted to stating he had a gun but denied making a threat when talking with deputies.
Eventually he said he understood how the other student would be afraid if someone threatened to shoot her, and he would be afraid, too.
No criminal charges were filed; however, school officials said the school would take disciplinary action.
