SAFFORD — The City of Safford and Carter’s Custom Cuts are teaming to help qualifying seniors with their utility bills.
The Give From the Heart Fund-raiser is raffling off a half-cow, valued at $2,100, from Carter’s Custom Cuts. The winner will choose preferred cuts from a cut list.
Only 500 tickets are being raffled for $20 each or six for $100.
“And I just checked in this morning (June 11), we are almost half-way through the tickets. So approaching 250,” said Assistant City Manager Eric Bejarano.
Tickets are availed at Safford City Hall or the city’s Mesa Yard office. Winner will be announced at SalsaFest, Sept. 27.
All proceeds will benefit the city’s Give From the Heart program, which helps seniors who qualify with their utility bills. Safford Utility customers can also contribute by rounding up their monthly bill or by adding a specified amount to their bill payment to be donated to the program.
