City of Safford to Host a Community Conversation with Downtown Business Owners to Address Parking Concerns

Safford, AZ – The City of Safford (COS) is aware of ongoing parking concerns in the historic downtown area and is taking steps to address these issues in collaboration with local business owners. Due to the unique design of downtown, off-street parking is not as readily available as in other areas of the city. Several public parking lots are available for use, and ADA-accessible spaces are reserved on streets throughout the area. As the downtown area continues to grow, including the highly anticipated reopening of the Safford Theatre and expected additional growth from new businesses in the area, parking in front of businesses may not always be available.

To address these concerns, the City of Safford is inviting downtown business owners and the Safford Downtown Association (SDA) to participate in a discussion about parking solutions. The meeting will occur at 8:00 AM on November 7th at the Safford Library Annex (814 S. Central Ave., Safford, AZ 85546).

“We look forward to working together to ensure that downtown Safford remains a vibrant and accessible place for businesses, residents, and visitors, keeping Safford a great place to Live, Work, and Visit.” Eric Bejarano – Assistant City Manager/PIO
