THATCHER — A Thatcher High School student just increased his chances to get into a top university.
Joshua Black was named a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student for 2025.
Black finished in the top 50,000 students nationwide in the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Black received a letter of commendation from Thatcher High School and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
The commendation does not come with funding for tuition; however, inclusion on a student’s application is considered helpful toward acceptance by a college or university.
