GRAHAM COUNTY — Two men were taken into custody after allegedly attacking a man they claimed were spreading false rumors.
The victim said he was in his shed at his home when the two men entered and claimed the victim was spreading rumors one of the men was a thief. The victim said the two refused to leave when asked and , when he tried pushing them out of the shed, one of the men struck the victim in the face.
The victim said the other man then tried to break up the fight, and that then the other man started to throw punches at the victim.
The eventually left and Graham County Sheriff’s deputies found the men at a home identified by a witness.
One of the men said he punched only in self defense and that he was never told to leave, while the other said he was told to vacate but he attempted to strike the victim because he saw text messages he didn’t like from the victim to the man’s significant other.
Both men were charged with assault, disorderly conduct and trespassing, and booked into Graham County Jail.
