New small wildfires start in Graham County

GRAHAM COUNTY — Six wildfires were reported as starting in Graham County on Sunday; however, five are currently very small in size.

The Malay fire is in the northeast of Graham, near the borders of Apache and Greenlee counties; the Stove Spring fire and Stove 2 fire is in the northern portion of the county, north of Clover Road; the Tow fire is in Bylas; and the Dutch fire is in the Mount Graham Wilderness area, southeast of Ladybug Peak.

All fires are currently listed at one-tenth of an acre, except the Dutch fire, which is currently at 1 acre..

The largest fire that started Sunday was the Starlight fire on the San Carlos Apache Reservation, just north of Copper Reef Mountain. It’s currently listed at 50 acres.
