Richard James Tomerlin, known as Jim, 76 years of age, entered into rest on Friday, July 19, 2024, in Show Low, Arizona, surrounded by his loved ones.
Jim was born January 28, 1948, in Morenci, Arizona, to the late Pat and Virginia Tomerlin. He was the third of four children; his sister preceded him in death. In his early years, Jim attended school in Morenci. He continued his schooling and graduated from Duncan High. Jim also attended Eastern Arizona College.
Jim met his eternal companion, Leslie Gardner, at EAC and they were married April 22,1969. They were blessed with five children. Jim held many church callings and was very active in the Boy Scouting Program. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping.
Jim leaves behind: his wife of 55 years, 5 children, 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-grandbabies on the way.
Family will receive friends Friday August 2, 2024, at the Show Low Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and again on Saturday August 3, 2024, at the Duncan Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with concluding services in the Duncan Cemetery.
