SAFFORD — The Graham County Chamber of Commerce announced that pre-sales for the 18th annual NatureSweet SalsaFest — Year of the Chimichanga have begun.

A number of favorite events and activities are returning to this year’s SalsaFest, Sept. 27 and 28, including the Chihuahua races, Safford Lions Club Car Show and live music throughout the two-day event.
And the Taste of the Trail competition — where the restaurants that make up the Salsa Trail in southeastern Arizona go head-to-head to see which restaurant makes the best salsa — will take place Friday.
New this year will be three amateur salsa-maker competitions on Saturday. Makers will ask the judges and the public to vote on who makes the best red salsa, the best green salsa and the best specialty salsa, with judging taking place throughout the day.
Attendees can pick up pre-purchased salsa and chips, drink tickets and T-shirts at the Chamber of Commerce booth during the event.
