GRAHAM COUNTY — Two people injured when their all-terrain vehicle ended up on its side both said they couldn’t remember what caused the crash.
Graham County Sheriff’s deputies were called out to 1st Avenue and Golf Course Road for the single-vehicle incident on Nov. 5. Deputies observed metal posts holding reflectors leading to the intersection were bent, and the stop sign at the intersection had been knocked over.
The woman was bleeding from the nose and complained of elbow pain. She said she and her husband had “a couple of beers” at a friend’s house when she became ill and the pair decided to return to their home. She said she didn’t know how long they had been drinking, nor did she remember the crash.
The man said he was suffering pain on the left side of his chest, as well as below the waist. He said “the road turned around on him” but he didn’t remember specifics. He also insisted the incident was his fault and not his wife’s and he declined a breath test.
The two were transported to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries and investigation into the incident is ongoing.
