SAFFORD — “If you got one application, that’d be the one you’d hope for,” said Supervisor Danny Smith.
During Tuesday’s meeting, the Graham County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to appoint Cindi Orr to fill the remaining two years of the current term for Graham County Treasurer.
“I think she does an outstanding job up there, and I have all the respect in the world for you and all the trust in the world for your ability to do this job,” said Supervisor John Howard.
The board was tasked with appointing a new Treasurer following the announcement that the elected official, Mary Bingham, was retiring effective Feb. 27.
County Manager Dustin Welker said Orr was the only one person to apply for the appointment. She currently works in the Treasurer’s Office as the Treasurer Accounting Technician.
Orr will start her new job effective Feb. 27 and will serve until Dec. 31, 2024.
