A woman called 911 at approximately 2:00 am on November 13th, 2024 to report that she and her boyfriend were in a domestic dispute. The woman said her boyfriend was drunk and trying to take their baby and go to his mother’s house. He apparently drove his vehicle into a ditch when he was trying to leave.
When the woman’s father reportedly heard the couple arguing in their room and went to intervene. His intervention caused an altercation between him and his daughter’s boyfriend, which apparently escalated further outside, when the boyfriend allegedly broke the taillight on the older man’s vehicle. The older man apparently tried to restrain the intoxicated boyfriend from causing further damage.
The boyfriend had left the premises by the time law enforcement arrived. They searched the area and found the man hiding in the back seat of a nearby vehicle. Deputies tracked the man by following his footprints and hearing dogs barking in the area. When asked why he hid when the deputies arrived, the man said that he was scared and that he had a record of fleeing from law enforcement.
Neither the man’s girlfriend nor her father wanted to press charges, but a neighbor sought charges for damages to their fence that the boyfriend jumped over when leaving his girlfriend’s house. The boyfriend was taken to jail and faces charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage.
