Suspected drunk driver causes rear-ender on the highway

GRAHAM COUNTY — A man suspected of driving drunk crashed twice, landing him in the hospital.

The incident occurred Friday, Oct. 20, at about 6:18 p.m. The driver was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 70, at milepost 343, when he reportedly rear-ended another vehicle. That crash caused the man’s vehicle to careen into a power pole, before coming to a stop in a cotton field south of the highway.

The man suffered a head wound and law enforcement said there was a strong odor emanating from both his person and where he vomited.

EMS arrived and he was transported to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
