Dorothy Marvilyn Ford Corbell passed away peacefully at the age of 92 at home in Clifton Arizona on June 2, 2024, surrounded by dozens of family members.
Dorothy was born on May 11, 1932, in Miami, Arizona, to parents Marvin and Lenora Ford. She was one of thirteen children and as an infant her family moved to Clifton where they settled on a farm next to the San Frisco River. Dorothy attended Clifton schools until high school when she attended Arizona Academy in Phoenix. She married Charles Paul (Stub) Corbell on July 15, 1955. They made their life in Morenci, Arizona, raising their five children and a sixth child their grandson Bud. Dorothy loved being outside doing activities like gardening, ranching and raising animals. Dorothy was also a Morenci School bus driver for 32 years.
Dorothy is preceded in death by: her daughter Nancy Lear. Dorothy is survived by: her husband of 68 years Charles Paul Corbell; her daughters, Nora Romero (Harold) and Marlene Canfield (John); her sons, Robert Corbell (Kathy) and Travis Corbell (Esperanza); 23 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren and countless extended family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be conducted Friday morning, June 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the Safford Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
The family suggests donations in Dorothy’s memory to the American Heart Association and would be greatly appreciated.
