BONITA — Bonita Elementary School is getting a technology upgrade, thanks to Valley Telecom Group.

Valley Telephone Cooperative Foundation recently granted Bonita School $5,000, which will be used to purchase MacBooks and monitors for the classrooms.

Valley’s Donation Program focuses on rural school systems and community organizations. Plus the internet provider will make funding available when there is an extraordinary need.

In addition to grants, Valley Telephone Cooperative Foundation makes more than $100,000 available in college scholarships to students in Valley’s service area, which includes Southeastern Arizona and Southwestern New Mexico.

The scholarships are for one year at a time, paid per semester, and students may receive up to five years of scholarship funding for undergraduate studies, and up to three years for graduate students.
