70 percent of Graham County voters cast an early ballot

SAFFORD — On Monday, the Graham County Board of Supervisors canvassed the results of the Aug. 2 Primary Election, making the results official.

The board also received some data from Hannah Duderstadt, the county’s director of elections.

“On Election Day, we had a total of 2,041 ballots cast, and for early voting we had a total of 4,793, with 29 provisional ballots,” she said. “So we have a total of 6,863 ballots that were cast, out of total of 19,253 registered voters.”

That puts Graham County’s voter turnout for the primary at 35.6 percent. She also said one polling location lost access to the network for about one hour, but service was restored and everyone who wanted a ballot was able to receive one and cast his or her vote.

Supervisor Paul David asked if any candidate or political party challenged the results of the election. Duderstadt said there have been no protests to the local outcomes.
