2024 Nickel Picnic and Battle of the Bands

The 20th annual Double R Communications Battle of the Bands is Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Graham County Fairgrounds.
The event opens at 11:00 am
The first band takes the stage at noon, with a new band every thirty minutes. This year’s lineup includes:
- Noon — Neutral Terrain (indie)
- 12:30 — Novices No Longer (alternative)
- 1 – To Kill a Sunrise (punk)
- 1:30 — Miss Misery (dance)
- 2 — Keenan Suke (blues)
- 2:30 — Spit (metal)
- 3 — Chapman Brothers (rock)
- 3:30 — Red Jack (country)
- 4 — The Wind Below (alternative)
- 4:30 — Crimzon Nightmare (death metal)
- 5 — Znora (rock)
- 5:30 — Borrowed Time (rock)
- 6 — Heat Stroke (rock)
- 6:30 — Curfew (rock)
- 7 — Desert Thunder Band (country)
- 7:30 — Zaylie Windsor Band (pop)
- 8 — Unofficial
- 8:30 — Ferocious Fernandez (metal)
The winning band will take home a check for $2,000, while second place gets a $500 Richard’s Music gift certificate and third place a $250 Richard’s Music gift certificate. Plus there are prizes for the best singer, guitar player, bassist, drummer and specialty instrumentalist.
Also taking place is the Nickel Picnic, featuring 5-cent hot dogs. The Nickel Picnic and Bud Light beer tent serve as fund-raisers for Southeastern Arizona Community Unique Services (SEACUS), which operates the Meals on Wheels program for homebound seniors. Plus there will be plenty of other vendors.
Admission is just $5 for the day and the 2024 Battle of the Bands T-shirt will be available for purchase.
