Woodbury Fire grows to 112,000 Acres

The Woodbury fire burning in the Superstition Mountain area has now consumed more than 112,000 acres. Currently there are 900 firefighters battling the fire. Because of the rapid growth of the fire over the weekend the percentage of perimeter contained dropped to 25%.

Despite the fire’s rapid growth, no more evacuation orders have been issued.

On Thursday, the Gila County Sheriff’s Office ordered residents living in or near Roosevelt Lake to evacuate their homes to a temporary shelter at Lee Kornegay School, at 4735 S. Ragus Road in Miami, Arizona. The order affected approximately 250 homes.
