SAFFORD – A series of free holiday events on Main Street kicked off Friday with the 17th Annual Tree Lighting and Merry Main Street. The event started with the tree lighting in front of Safford City Hall. The snow slide was also on the City Hall lawn. The event boasted all the usual food booths and games and rides along with craft opportunities for kids. Santa Claus listened to children’s Christmas wishes on the east end of Main Street and a stage was set up at the intersection of Main Street and 5th Avenue for entertainment.
The 21st annual Holiday Light Parade will light up Main Street on Saturday, December 1, 2018. The event starts at 4:00 pm with Santa and food vendors. Entertainment takes the stage at 5:00 pm and the parade begins at 6:00 pm.
The Graham County Chamber of Commerce will present a holiday concert on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in downtown Safford. The concert will feature holiday music from local artists.
The City of Safford will present a movie presentation of ‘The Santa Clause 2’ on Friday, December 14, 2018. The movie will be presented on the Safford City Hall Lawn at 6:00 pm.
For the final event of the series, The Graham County Chamber of Commerce will present Carolers on Main Street on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Safford’s Main Street.
