Safford Police Officer helps stranded man

A man walked into a business on Highway 70 in Safford during the noon hour last Friday and asked the employees to call the police. When a Safford officer arrived, the man asked the officer to arrest him so that he would have somewhere to sleep and get some food. The man said that he was from Laughlin, NV and was trying to get back there.

The officer explained that the man could not be arrested for no reason. The man said that he just needed some food, so the officer helped the man get some food and water.
