THATCHER- A clothing exchange for a cause, local ladies bond by bring in funds for a  woman battling cancer.

After collecting new and barely-used clothing for a week, the Pamper Me Ladies Night Out group of women at Eastern Arizona College (EAC), put on a clothing exchange, complete with a changing room on Thursday. All of the funds received from selling the clothing went to benefit Laura Thompson, who is battling breast cancer. Snacks were provided, and many of the clothes were new with tags still on.  Patti Wren was the EAC Student Activities Facilitator in charge of the exchange, and she told Gila Valley Central how she loves to see the community work together and help each other.

“One of my very favorite things about our community is how willing everyone is to step up and help when asked. Every time we do a fundraiser I pray for the best results,” Wren said. ” And every time this amazing community comes through. So grateful to everyone who supported our efforts to help Lauren. Both in donating clothing, washing, hanging, organizing, baking cookies and shopping! Also thankful for the support from EAC!”

The clothing will be on sale for half price on Friday from noon to 5:00 pm. The clothing exchange is located at the EAC Activities Center.
