MGLL Major All-Stars win, Minors eliminated

The Mount Graham Little League Minors All-Stars needed to beat Hayden once to claim the District 11 Championship. Unfortunately for MGLL Hayden brought their A game and defeated MGLL in back to back nights to take the championship.

Hayden took game one 7-5 in a back and forth game. Last night Hayden took an early 3-1 lead but MGLL fought back to tie it at 5 heading into the 5th inning when the wheels literally fell off. Hayden scored 16 runs in the 5th inning to take a 21-5 lead. Safford tacked on two more in the bottom half of the inning but fell 21-7, ending their season.

The MGLL Majors All-Stars started their District 11 Championship last night at home. The 11 and 12 year old’s are hosting the tournament at the Graham County Fairgrounds. In opening night action MGLL knocked of Clifton/Morenci 11-0 and Hayden/Winkleman beat Pinal Mountain 9-0.

MGLL will take on Hayden/Winkleman tonight at 5:30pm and Pinal Mountain will play Clifton/Morenci at 7:30pm at the Graham County Fairgrounds. There is no entrance fee to come and support the youth of the Gila Valley.
