Kevin Wayne Smithson

Kevin Wayne Smithson, a resident of Rathdrum, Idaho formerly of Holbrook, Arizona, passed away suddenly on Sunday morning, May 19, 2019, while camping near Lewiston Idaho. Kevin was 45.

Kevin was born to Bryan and Nancy Smithson on October 17, 1973.  He was the youngest of five children. Kevin went to attended and graduated from Holbrook High School and then honorably served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Canada Halifax Mission.  He married the love of his life, Halee Bryce, on May 29, 1998, in Mesa Arizona. Kevin worked for Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad for 20 years as a signal maintainer, inspector, and signal supervisor. His love for life was with his children and wife, hunting, snowmobiling, Lakeland football, his many friends and serving in his church callings.

Kevin is leaves to mourn: his wife, Halee Bryce Smithson; his children, Porter William Smithson, Bryce Wayne Smithson, Taft Wade Smithson, Zayne Kevin Smithson and Molly Mae Smithson; two brothers, Steven Smithson and Bryan Smithson Jr.; two sisters, Pam Searls and Sheryl Gibbons; and his parents, Bryan and Nancy Smithson; with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Kevin was loved by many and will always be remembered by those who were lucky enough to know him.

Funeral services for Kevin will be conducted Saturday afternoon, June 1, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Thatcher Stake Center by Bishop Tom Palmer of the Thatcher Seventh Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Thatcher Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until 12:45 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Thatcher Stake Center Relief Society Room.
