Julie Ann Gurtler, 43 of Clifton, passed away August 10, 2015. Julie was born on March 27, 1972, in Morenci, the second daughter to David and Bonnie Tracy.
Julie spent her adolescent years in Clifton, attending Clifton High School and later became a certified cosmetologist. She held a license with the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology. She loved the outdoors; fishing, hiking, camping and spending time with her family. Her hobby was collecting recipes and she had an extensive collection of cookbooks. Julie was previously employed with Freeport McMoRan in Morenci. She was currently employed as haul truck operator at Pinto Valley Mining (Capstone).
On Sept. 1, 1990, Julie married Matt Gurtler; they were married for sixteen years. They raised their children; Steven, Melissa, Matthew and Andrew in the Clifton-Morenci area.
Julie is survived by her children; Melissa Gurtler and Matthew J. Gurtler of Gilbert, AZ. Parents David and Bonnie Tracy of Clifton also her maternal grandmother, Bonnie Ray of Clifton, her two sisters; Jacque (Chad) Dale of Abilene, TX and Alysia (Daniel) Sherwood of Mesa, AZ., also many uncles, aunts and numerous cousins.
Julie is preceded in death by her two sons; Steven and Andrew Gurtler, grandfather, Steven Ray, Sr. and grandparents Frank and Mamie Tracy.
Private family services were held on August 15, 2015 at Caldwell’s Chapel in Safford, AZ with interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Morenci, AZ.
Arrangements were under the direction of the McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
