Jose “Pedro” R. Ontiveros, 85, of Duncan, passed away January 28, 2017 in Safford with his family by his side. He was born in Morenci, AZ to Guadalupe “Candy” & Antonio Ontiveros.
Pedro was the oldest of 8 children. He married Pascaula Chacon on February 8, 1950. They had five children; Olga, Pedro, Tony, Carlos & David. He worked for Phelps Dodge until he retired.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Pedro loved fishing, hunting and raising animals but most of all he loved his wife’s singing. He also loved is many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and his God children.
Services for Pedro will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 beginning with a viewing at 10:00 a.m., Rosary recited at 11:00 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Morenci.
