Iris Janeen Curtis, 63, of Colorado Springs, CO, formally of the Gila Valley, passed away October 27, 2015. She was born July 8, 1952 in Miami, AZ to Ira and Greta Zufelt.
She married John “Rocky” Curtis in the Mesa Arizona Temple and the couple was blessed with four children; Travis, Kyle, Brandon and Troy. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Iris earned her Bachelors of Psychology and was an Enrollment Representative. She enjoyed reading, writing children’s stories, arts and crafts and traveling.
Iris is survived by her children; Travis Curtis, Kyle (Aimee) Curtis, Brandon (Uli) Curtis and Troy (Tomi) Curtis, grandchildren; Vada, Makayla and Rafael, and siblings Vern Zufelt, Val Zufelt and Carla.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rocky Curtis and her parents Ira and Greta Zufelt.
Services for Iris will be held on Saturday November 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thatcher Church Street Chapel. Interment will be held at a later date at the VA Cemetery in Phoenix next to her husband, Rocky.
