Georgette Olene Blackman

Georgette Olene Blackman, age 35, of Morenci, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Friday morning, November 4, 2016. Georgette was born August 20, 1981, in Morenci.

Georgette will best be remembered for her love of family and friends (and dogs). If you were someone in her life, she would always put your needs before her own. There was nothing she would not do for those that she loved.

Born and raised in Morenci, she graduated from Morenci High School in 1999. She then spent some time traveling and living in other cities but ultimately would move back home. Georgette was very active in the community and a local entrepreneur opening “La Chispa” shop and DJ’ing with Servando Cruz. When she wasn’t working, she was crafting and spending time with family and friends, and she has a lot of friends! She was a very loving and compassionate people person and we are all blessed to have been a part of her life.

Georgette is survived by: “Mama” Vivian Lopez; her brother, KJ Blackman; her nephew, Tayshaun Blackman; her niece, Kennadi Blackman; her grandfather, George Lopez; her grandmother, Rosalie Blackman; by Servando Cruz and Raymond Hernandez; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and her dogs, Mio, Lola and Champ.

Georgette was preceded in death by: her father, Kenny Joe Blackman; her grandfather, Kenny Lee Blackman; her grandmother, Mary Lou Lopez; and her uncles, George Lopez and Daniel Lopez.

A Celebration of Georgette’s Life will be conducted Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., at the Morenci Club by Pastor Steven Fix.
