Fort Thomas high school student investigated for threats

A student at Fort Thomas High School reportedly made threats on Monday that he was going to bring a firearm to school on Tuesday with intent to do harm.

In a press release today, Fort Thomas High School principal, McKay Despain, said, “We take any threat against the school with the upmost seriousness and do a thorough investigation. Law enforcement was contacted immediately.”

School and law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate the treat and the school is following up with appropriate disciplinary measures, according to the release.

“The safety of our students is our number one priority and concern. I want to assure the community that our students have been and are safe during the continued investigation and disciplinary actions,” Despain said.

The school has asked that anyone with information concerning the incident contact the school.
